I have over 18 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families addressing a wide variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and trauma.  One of my passions is helping people navigate through the grieving process.  I am EMDR trained and Master ART Certified and have found these to be very effective treatments when dealing with trauma, loss, phobias, depression, and anxiety.  As a wife, mother, and counselor, I understand how busy life can be.  Because we are happier when our lives are more balanced, I seek to help others achieve greater health and happiness through achieving more balance.  I also strive to provide a warm, inviting, and safe atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.  I know that it can be anxiety-provoking to start therapy, and that makes it even more important to provide a non-judgmental space to assist in the open communication of thoughts, feelings, and experiences.  I seek to meet people where they are at and help them to reach the goals that they set for therapy.  I believe therapy is best when it is a collaborative process where everyone feels understood, heard, and respected.

Amber Colt, LCSW

I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and families as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 25 years.  My clinical work has been primarily in an outpatient setting providing individual, family and group therapies.  I have experience working with many mental health issues including anxiety, depression and inattention as well as autism and other social and communication struggles.  I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).  It has always been very important to me that the clients I work with feel accepted, supported and understood.  I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most crucial component of a successful counseling experience and it is central to my mission.  We will work together to increase self awareness and build and strengthen coping skills so as to promote positive change.  Beginning or continuing a journey through counseling takes significant strength and courage. Recognizing it as such and empowering clients to achieve the goals they set so that they feel more content and capable is a priority.

James Spears, LMHC

As a husband, father, and counselor, I understand the power of seeking and finding clarity within oneself, and the transformative impact that this can have upon the meaningful relationships that exist within one’s life.   I deeply value the counseling relationship, and I see this as the foundation through which positive change and personal growth can take place and flourish.  I am particularly passionate about working with people who are struggling with issues pertaining to relationships, life transitions, anxiety, and self-esteem.  I seek to meet people at whatever place they find themselves on their life's journey. I believe strongly in helping people to cultivate a space in which they can more readily view themselves and their life with self-compassion and self-acceptance.  I strive to provide a counseling space that is safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming of all people.  I wish to work collaboratively with people and empower them to reach their personal goals.  If you have been feeling lost or unsure lately, as it relates to moving along your life’s path, I look forward to helping you find your way through the mental and emotional wilderness, and into the clearing, where you can attain greater clarity and peace in your life, and ultimately, experience a happier and healthier way of living.

Amy Burbage, Ph.D., HSPP

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with children, adults, and families. I started in community mental health and then transitioned to work for much of my career in a hospital and outpatient setting. I have experience working with a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, ADHD, and autism. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).  I believe progress and growth happen when therapy is a collaboration between client and therapist.  I strive to work with people to ascertain their personal goals and then develop and assist in a plan to achieve those goals. For some, deciding to begin or continue therapy can be difficult and daunting. Understanding this, my goal in sessions is to help people feel heard, understood, challenged, encouraged, and accepted.
