Individual therapy is a one-on-one process where you work with a licensed therapist to better understand your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It provides a confidential, supportive space to talk openly about what you’re going through without judgment or pressure.
Rather than simply offering advice, therapy is a collaborative process. Together, you and your therapist identify patterns, explore underlying causes, and develop practical strategies that help you move forward. Sessions are guided by your goals—whether that’s managing stress, improving relationships, building confidence, or navigating a life transition.
Over time, this process helps you gain insight, strengthen coping skills, and make meaningful changes that support long-term emotional well-being.

Greater clarity around your thoughts, emotions, and patterns
Improved ability to manage stress and navigate challenges
Stronger confidence in decision-making and daily life
Healthier communication and relationship skills
A clearer sense of direction and personal growth
Your first session is mostly about getting to know you — there's no pressure to dive into everything at once. Your therapist will ask about what brought you in, what you're hoping to work toward, and a bit of your background, so together you can start shaping a plan that fits your goals. Many people feel a sense of relief just having that first conversation.
It depends on your goals. Some people come in to work through a specific challenge and feel resolution in a few months; others value ongoing support over a longer period. In your early sessions, you and your therapist will talk openly about what you're hoping for and revisit that together as you go, so the pace always reflects your needs rather than a fixed timeline.
Individual therapy sessions are $175 for a 60-minute session, with 45- and 30-minute options also available. We begin with a free 10-minute phone consultation so you can ask questions before scheduling. Self-pay clients receive a $25 discount when payment is made on the date of service.
If you're using insurance and your therapist is in network with your plan, your session will be billed at the discounted rate contracted with your insurance company. For those who qualify based on income, we also offer a sliding fee scale at reduced rates. You can find full details on our fees and payment options on our Services page.
Yes. We offer in-person individual therapy at our office in Carmel, Indiana, as well as secure virtual sessions for clients across the state. You're welcome to choose whichever feels most comfortable, and you can switch between the two as your needs change.
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want space to understand yourself better, individual therapy can help — you don't need to be in crisis to benefit. If you're unsure whether it's the right fit, we offer a free initial phone consultation where you can ask questions and get a feel for how we work before committing to anything.
